Tunisian judokas win more medals at Tunis tournament

Tunisia's judokas won seven medals on Saturday (March 29th), including three gold and four bronze, during the second day of the Tunis International Judo Tournament. Some 200 athletes from 20 countries took part in the event. Tunisia topped the medal tally with seven gold and eight bronze.

Tunisia wins best team trophy in Senegal

Tunisia's national judo team won three gold medals and one silver, as well as the trophy for best team at the Saint-Louis International Judo Tournament, held March 8th-9th in Senegal. Tunisia's Seifeddine Sassi (-73 kg,), Hana Merghani (-78 kg) and Faycal Jaballah (-100 kg) won the golds and Rahma Guesmi (-70 kg) took the silver. The tournament was part of the team's preparations for other international events including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games

Tunisia wins 7th African Judo Junior Championship

Tunisia's national men's and women's junior judo teams won the 7th African championship held August 29th-31st in Cairo. Tunisian judokas took a total of 12 medals, including 6 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze in the individual events, and topped the standings in team events on Friday. In the finals, the Tunisian women beat Algeria 5-0 and the Tunisian men defeated Egypt 4-1 victories.
